Kerry footballer Aidan O'Mahony put his reflexes to use as he was working in Cork yesterday. O'Mahony, who is a guard, was working in Cork District court when a chair was thrown across the room, the Irish Examiner reports.

A fellow guard was giving evidence against Jason Landy when the man in custody stood up, exclaimed "fuck off" and then threw a chair in the direction of the Kerry player who caught the piece of courtroom furniture.

The art of courtroom fielding really is a dying skill these days.
