Kilkenny Bieber: A Life In Progress

Kilkenny Bieber: A Life In Progress
By Donny Mahoney Updated

Most of the world outside of the Marble County would have been ignorant about Alan Hayes, the next Count John McCormack, before he made his big youtube debut during the Drive For Five wake in Kilkenny this week.

But Hayes has been grinding out a career on Kilkenny's underage singing circuit for years now. Alan was unlucky to come second in the 2008 K Factor, losing to Maazi Madolo an "11 year old girl from Donegal living in Callan" as the Kilkenny Advertiser put it. Hopefully winning "Best Haircut" at the Tommy Jackson Soccer School in 2009 was some consolation.

One can only assume Alan will be the first name on the team sheet for all future Kilkenny hurling wakes!
