Kilmacud Crokes defeated Wolfe Tones at Páirc Tailteann in Navan on Sunday afternoon to secure progression to the last four of the Leinster championship.

The Dublin champions' manager Robbie Brennan is glad that the semi-finals of the competition will be played a little closer to home in Croke Park.

Asked if the south Dublin team will benefit from the experience of individuals like Paul Mannion and Rory O'Carroll, who have played in big games at Croke Park, Brennan revealed that some of his players got lost on the way to Navan.

"At least they can tell them where to go!" Brennan told RTÉ Radio 1.

"A few of them got lost coming down here today, would you believe, which is mind-boggling. Hopefully, they'll be able to find their way into Croke Park a little bit easier!

"A lot of those lads wouldn't have played in [Croke Park]. Obviously Paul and Rory are well used to it but some of the younger lads wouldn't have played there. It's exciting, but I'm sure it's the same for Portarlington."

"It was decent at times," said Brennan about his side's performance.

"The second quarter wouldn't be good enough. Credit to Tones, they are a good side, and are entitled to put us under pressure like that.

"We said at half-time that we'd just try to reset and refocus, go after the breaking ball, and stop going for goals, and tip over a few points instead.

"It got a bit silly there in the second quarter, trying to walk the ball into the net. That was what we went after, and thankfully it worked out in the third and fourth quarter.

"The lads, they do go after goals when the opportunity is on, but it's Leinster football and conditions are different. Points are probably the way to go."
