Lar Corbett's bar in Thurles was robbed last night. The burglar left the premises with the takings from the past week. Lar addressed the matter via the mechanism of his twitter account. He is not inclined to simply stay quiet and leave the matter to the police.

Here is his opening gambit.

He promised to put video footage up on twitter, a promise on which he delivered and offered a reward for any member of the public who can help.

He addressed the man directly.

He's confident of taking him down.

While the bulk of the responses were supportive, very much of the 'fair play to you' variety, there was one inevitable joke that was crying out to be made. Indeed, social media would have been shamed had it not been made. Oisin McGinn stepped up to the mark.
