Mickey Harte doesn't like the black card and ramped up his criticism after David Coldrick's failure to dole out on to Down's Conor Maginn when he conceded the first half penalty last Sunday. Harte was irked by the referee's inconsistency in issuing one to Niall Morgan in the second half.
Harte told the Examiner.
I was opposed to the black card coming in and people thought I was opposed to it because of the cynical Tyrone outfit we have but that’s not the case. I’ve been consistent on this and said the very thing that the black card was put in for, the yellow card was supposed to be applied to for years and wasn’t being done consistently. And that’s why there appeared to be a need for this black card.
The GAA President Liam O'Neill was asked about Mickey Harte's complaints today. O'Neill has been more cutting than usual in his dealings with critics of late, responded to Harte's conplaints during an interview on Ocean FM.
In fairness to Mickey Harte, he doesn't leave much negativity out. If there's something negative to be said, Mickey will say it and he's consistent on that.
