Both RTE and BBC are reporting that Mark McHugh, one of the stars of Donegal's 2012 All-Ireland victory has left the panel.

They also report that two other panel members, Gary McFadden and Thomas McKinley, have opted out. The Donegal Democrat had earlier reported rumours that the trio had left the panel. RTE GAA confirmed it this evening.

The BBC have suggested that a fourth player, Anton McFadden, has also left.

There is much speculation online as to why the players have left the panel. Mark McHugh did not start Sunday's Division 2 League Final but did come on early in the game. His brother Ryan McHugh remains on the panel.
