Facebook CEO and internet leviathan Mark Zuckerberg is not the first name you'd think of when it comes to helping spread the good word of the GAA. However, that's what has happened (momentarily) after Zuckerberg shared this video with his 31+ million followers on Facebook.
The video is intended to show how Facebook's algorithms can detect what is happening in a video to get you to see the things you want, or mine all your data depending on your outlook on life.
How best to demonstrate the system's ability? Get 'some really obscure and unexpected sports'. Gaelic football and hurling it is.
Given that the figures end up at 0.51 for hurling and 0.41 for gaelic football, we'd suggest a bit more work needs to be done on the technology.
