With the Late Late Show returning for another season, Ryan Tubridy welcomed Acting Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ronan Glynn; paddleboarders Ellen Glynn and Sara Feeney and the hero fishermen who saved them, Patrick and Morgan Oliver.
Elsewhere, Dr Samar Fatima Ali was also in studio to discuss the devastating loss her family experienced this summer when her father, Dr Syed Waqqar Ali, a frontline doctor in the Mater Hospital, died after contracting Covid-19.
Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody, Women in Harmony, The Frank and Walters, and Oscar-winner Russell Crowe were among the guests too, but one man stole the hearts of every Irish person.
After turning 90 this year, Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh is showing no signs of slowing down as he joined Tubridy to recount his earliest memories of visiting Croke Park, the impact that COVID has had on the sporting calendar, and why GAA matters more now to members of the local community than ever before.
Aside from this, the legendary commentator recalled a few lovely anecdotes about his time in school as he'd learn Irish through a variety of different dialects.
However, they kept the best until last because, despite all the difficulty, heartache, and sadness that the disrupted calendar has caused, nobody could argue with the winner of this year's one and only All-Star award.
Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh - a gifted broadcaster, a national treasure, and an absolute gentleman.
Collecting his award, he said: "It looks lovely, I never expected or anticipated anything like that. Go raibh míle maith agat whoever thought of it. That will be in a very special place."
