Today was a good day for hurling in Antrim.

The county gone through some difficult times in recent years, but they will be hoping that their victory over Clare is a sign of things to come.

They beat the Munster side on a scoreline of 1-21 to 0-22 in Belfast this afternoon, while also playing in hurling's top tier for the first time since 2008.

While Antrim would lead for the majority of the contest, the game would come right down to the wire.

The sides were level as the clock ticked into the 68th minute, but a moment of brilliance from Neil McManus would give the home side a route to victory.

Incredible stuff.

Antrim would manage to tag on another score before the final whistle to run out winners by a two-point margin.

They can now look ahead to games against Wexford and Laois in the coming weeks in league competition, before taking part in the Leinster championship this summer courtesy of their Joe McDonagh triumph last year.
