Three games into the National League and Cork are without a victory.

They've already lost to Dublin, Waterford and Galway.

Things do not get much easier for them this weekend as they take on Kilkenny at Páirc Uí Rinn on Saturday night.

In their attempt to topple the All-Ireland champions, the Rebels will source some inspiration from another group of rebels - those of 1916.

According to Southern Star sports editor Kieran McCarthy, Cork will wear this blue jersey against the Cats.

The jersey, which will be available for purchase this week, is a replica of that worn by the Cork hurlers in 1916 and a colour which they continued to use until 1919.

The Cork hurlers changed their colours to red in 1919 after the county board offices were raided by the British army and the blue jerseys taken.
