The sister of former Armagh star Ronan Clarke has given a positive update on his condition from hospital. The two time All Star remains in intensive care but his sister, Sinead Curry, has told the Belfast Telegraph that Clarke is 'making progress and has woken up' as the GAA community continue to send their best wishes to the 32 year old.

Clarke collided with a post during a club match between Pearse Óg and Maghery on Saturday. According to the Telegraph, he played on after the clash and it was only after the game that the seriousness of the collision became clear.

He was rushed to Craigavon hospital and placed in intensive care where his condition was described as 'serious but stable'. Clarke's sister has confirmed that things remain serious but the family are pleased that 'he has been taken off the ventilator and is being given a bit of oxygen'.

He may still have a long way to go in his recovery but it is certainly good news to hear that his condition is improving.
