Kildare are just 40/1 to beat Dublin this Sunday. And the handicap is fixed at 11 points. The consensus is that they have never been less equipped to take on Dublin. They suffered a harrowing defeat to the Dubs when they played them two years ago in the first round of the championship. Kieran McGeeney's reign was doomed from that point.

It's fifteen years since Kildare's last triumph over the Dubs in the championship. And a big game it was too. At half-time in the 2000 Leinster final, Dublin led by five points and Tommy Carr was set fair to guide the Dubs to their first provincial title in five years.

Pat Spillane decided to unload on the Kildare players at half-time in a famous rant.

He reserved particular criticism for Kildare's 'imports', Micko's son Karl O'Dwyer who played for Kerry during the bleak early 1990s and whose presence on the team was a casualty of the 1992 Munster Final, and Brian Murphy, who he alleged would fail to make the Cork junior side.

The Cill Dara Times have put together this nice little video. Understandably, the video includes a 'what happened next' section.
