Richie Hogan departed the Croke Park pitch on Sunday with his feet looking like that of a man who had just spent a fortnight walking the Ring of Kerry in wholly inappropriate footwear.

The Kilkenny centre-forward scored five points and going by the skin flayed from the base of his feet also came into contact with nearly every blade of grass in the stadium.
'The feet are on fire' Richie tweeted after the game, he may want to consider an alternative choice of boot for the final to avoid this happening once more.
