The great Tony Keady was honoured on The Late Late Show last night, with Ryan Tubridy joined by his wife, Margret and daughter, Shannon.

Keady died suddenly last August, and it has been revealed this week that he had started working with Liam Hayes on his autobiography months before passing away.

Keady's family have since helped Hayes to complete the book, and includes letters written by Keady’s children Shannon, Anthony, Jake, and Harry to their father after his death.

Margret told Tubridy that the process of writing helped keep Tony alive in their house over a long and difficult winter.

Well, it kept us going over the winter. Because we were facing a long, lonely winter without Tony. The boys, Shannon and myself used to sit down at night and we wrote little letters.

Some of them went into the book. It kept Tony alive and it still does because we have his book all over the house and I’m sure a lot of people have his book in their house.

Shannon spoke eloquently and brilliantly when remembering her Dad, and RTE have shared a clip online.
