MTU Kerry continued their brilliant run in the Electric Ireland Sigerson Cup with victory over their Munster rivals MTU Cork on Tuesday evening.
The Cork campus was the host for the Munster Technological University derby, as Kerry sought to take another Corkonian scalp after their shock Round 2B win over UCC last week.
It was to be the underdogs who won out on the night to continue their run and reach the quarter-finals.
Their second goal on the night - courtesy of captain Keith Evans - was the highlight of the night. However, speaking after the game, Evans revealed he had not even been going for goal with his lethal finish.

It was a goal-laden contest on Cork's Bishopstown campus, with the two MTU colleges sharing six goals between them in Tuesday's Electric Ireland Sigerson Cup contest.
The hosts made a faster start, leading by two points after 20 minutes, before a late flurry of action sent Kerry in at the break six points to the good. First, Sean Dore was black carded for MTU Cork, before two goals in quick succession from Darragh O'Connor and Keith Evans completed a ten-minute eight-point turnaround for MTU Kerry.
Evans' finish was particularly satisfying, with the ball rifling into the top corner.
However, the Keel man would admit at full-time he had not been going for goal.
"I wasn't expecting to go there really, I tried to put it over the bar," admitted Evans. "Thankfully, it found the back of the net. I was going for a point!"
Darragh O'Connor would add a scruffy second goal from close range just after half-time, and a point from Evans moments later had them nine points to the good at 3-08 to 0-08.
Two goals from Alan Dunwoody in the space of a minute had MTU Cork dreaming of a comeback, as they reduced the deficit from nine points down to three with less than 20 minutes remaining.
However, the third goal in as many minutes would go to the visitors and quell any hopes of MTU Cork fighting their way back into the game. Sean O'Brien raised the white flag and, from there, MTU Kerry cruised to a 4-11 to 2-10 victory to pull off yet another surprise result.
Few would have expected to see MTU Kerry in the quarter-finals after their first game back at Sigerson Cup level saw them take a heavy defeat away to DCU on the delayed opening night.
Their shock Round 2B win over neighbours UCC put them through to Tuesday's tie, and they will be public enemy #1 in the Rebel County after repeating the trick against MTU Cork.
The Trench Cup holders have defied expectations and can now allow themselves to dream of extending their run into the competition even further in next week's quarter-finals. They last won the Sigerson Cup in 1999.
Elsewhere on Tuesday night, UL pushed on in the final ten minutes to knock University of Galway out by a score of 3-08 to 0-14 on home soil. In the later game, DCU led ATU Sligo 1-09 to 0-02 at half-time.
The final Electric Ireland Sigerson Cup third round tie between Maynooth and St. Mary's Belfast takes place on Wednesday evening, with throw-in at 7:15pm.
