Tuesday January 10th

MTU Cork v UCD - 7pm, Cork IT

Matthew Downey of Derry already has an Ulster senior intercounty medal to his name, and will hope to add Sigerson Cup glory to his honours list with Queens this year. Their opponents Ulster University have 2021 All-Ireland winner Darragh Canavan in their setup, and will hope to win out in this Ulster derby.

ATU Donegal v DCU Dóchas Éireann - 7pm, Convoy

ATU, as you'd expect, have a Donegal-dominated panel, and their squad includes Conor O'Donnell, who broke into the senior intercounty team during 2022. They will face a DCU side which includes three Dublin players - Lorcan O'Dell, David Lacey, and David O'Hanlon - as well as 2019 All-Ireland minor winning captain Conor Corbett of Cork.

SETU Carlow v St. Mary's University College - 7:30pm, Carlow I.T.

Carlow will be dreaming of claiming Sigerson Cup glory for the first time ever in 2023, and they get this year's campaign underway against two-times winners St. Mary's University on Tuesday night.

Wednesday 11th January

UCC v UL - 7pm, Mardyke

The battle of the Munstermen takes place in Cork on Wednesday night. Similarly to MTU Cork, UCC can call on a strong cohort of Rebels, with several of those who lined up in the recent Cork v Kerry McGrath Cup game (on both sides) involved for UCC. The big story for UL is that their star man, David Clifford, will be missing for 2023, having graduated from the college in the summer of 2022.

ATU Sligo v MTU Kerry - 7:15pm, IT Sligo Grounds

Joseph Keaney of Sligo is certainly one to watch for the future, having already won a county intermediate title with Easky, and an U-20 provincial title with Sligo. He is the man to watch on an ATU Sligo team that will face MTU Kerry in their opening Sigerson Cup game on Wednesday night.
