The future of the Mayo management team of Pat Holmes and Noel Connelly remains very much in doubt this morning after a crisis meeting didn't exactly go the way the County Board may have been hoping.

It had been thought that captain Keith Higgins and vice-captain Cillian O'Connor would act as representatives for the squad and sit down with officials to talk about their grievances in the wake of the vote of no confidence in the management.

However, the Mayo News are reporting that's not exactly what happened. Instead, somewhere in the region of 30 players showed up at the meeting in Castlebar in a show of strength that we can only assume was accompanied by dramatic music and some close up shots of severe faces ready to dish out some hard truths.

In reality, the meeting only lasted a mere ten minutes where it is thought that the squad outlined their problems with the management before walking out into the night amid stunned silence from the gathered county board officials.
