The GAA world was saddened on Friday night with the news of the death of Brian Mullins.

The 68-year-old was a titan of Dublin GAA, claiming several county titles with his club of St. Vincent's, as well as the 1976 All-Ireland club championship.

Mullins was also a pillar of the great Dublin team of the 1970s and early '80s, winning four All-Ireland titles with the team over the course of an 11-year intercounty career.

He would go on to manage Dublin and Derry, as well as taking up a directorial role in UCD.

Mullins died on Friday, and tributes poured in from around the country to a true legend of GAA.

His club St. Vincent's took on Na Fianna in the Dublin senior camogie final on Friday night, and a minute's silence was observed for the late Mullins. After Vincent's' 1-14 to 0-10 win, player of the match Aisling Maher dedicated their triumph to Brian Mullins.

A goal at the end of the first half saw Vincent's go in nine points up at the break, and that would ultimately prove to be the crucial momentum swing. Despite a strong fightback in the second half, Na Fianna came up short, and Vincent's claimed the senior title on an emotional night for the club.

After the game, Vincent's full forward Aisling Maher was named player of the match, and spoke to Camogie Dublin's livestream of the match.

She paid tribute to the great Brian Mullins, saying his passing had touched the team ahead of throw in:

Brian Mullins epitomises what it means to be a club man in a lot of ways. There's a lot of people in Vincent's who have been positively influenced by his presence and by the work that he's done.

That was definitely a thought that was at the forefront of our minds going into tonight, we had a chat in the dressing room before we came out about what he meant to the club and what he represented, and brought to the pitch every time he played. We wanted to emulate that tonight.

It was a brilliant all-round performance from St. Vincent's, and one that did justice to the memory of the late Brian Mullins.

Vincent's will now progress to the Leinster championship. The club posted a photo from Friday night's celebrations with the caption "Preparations for Leinster well underway"

They will certainly enjoy the celebrations, and hope to push on even further in the All-Ireland championship.
