Jack McCaffrey has been named as the Sunday Game's Footballer of the Year.

The Dublin half-back received votes from four members of the Sunday Game panel - Dessie Dolan, Tomás Ó Sé, Colm O'Rourke and Pat Spillane.

Ciaran Whelan and Kevin McStay also gave the nod to Dublin players, Rory O'Carroll and Ciaran Kilkenny respectively.

Joe Brolly was the only member of the panel not to vote for a player from the All-Ireland winners. Instead he named Aidan O'Shea as his choice for being a 'wrecking ball' throughout the Championship.

Brolly disagreed with his colleagues' selection of McCaffrey saying that he is a 'lively' wing-back but not a 'dominant' player.
