The draw has taken place in the quarterfinals for the GAA All-Ireland football championship on Monday morning as the hunt for Sam Maguire continues through the knockout phase.

The group winners in the round robin groups - Dublin, Kerry, Armagh, Donegal - all receive byes to the quarterfinal stage and they will face the winners of the preliminary quarterfinals.

On Saturday, Galway would edge past Monaghan at home in Pearse Stadium while Roscommon would stun Tyrone in Omagh to advance. Derry and Mayo would battle it out in Castlebar, with penalties being needed to spilt the two sides with Mickey Harte's side coming out on top.

Sunday's game saw history be made as a late Sam Mulroy free would give the Wee County the win over Cork as Louth are set to make their first ever appearance in the All-Ireland quarter-finals.

Sam Maguire Round Robin groups

Teams were divided into four pots depending on where they placed in the provincial championships. During the draw, teams were selected from each pot to determine the groups, which will then play a round robin series.

The top three teams will progress from each group to the provisional quarterfinals.

Which counties advance directly to the All-Ireland quarterfinals?

The four first place teams advance directly to the quarterfinal stage of the tournament. Armagh, Dublin, Donegal, and Kerry were the teams to take a place in the quarterfinals.

What are the pools for the preliminary quarterfinals?

Tyrone were the first team to confirm their place in the second place tier of the preliminary quarterfinals. They will be joined by Mayo, Galway, and Louth.

Cork will be in the third place pool, where they will be joined by Roscommon, Derry, and Monaghan.
