Connacht GAA announced on Wednesday evening that Dr. Hyde Park in Roscommon would be the venue for the Connacht final between Mayo and Sligo on July 19th.

It was a surprise announcement as many believed the only options to be MacHale Park in Castlebar and Pearse Stadium in Saltill.

Reaction to the decision, to say the least, has not been positive.

The main issues cited include the low capacity of 20,000, lack of proper facilities and possible parking problems.
