What is it that keeps former inter county players going back for more?

Are they simply just holding on to the last vestiges of their glory years? Are they so desperate for a little bit of applause that they just can't walk away?

Nope. Well not in this case anyway. Hank Traynor, the former Meath stalwart, All Ireland winner and star of 'The 20 Best GAA Names Of All-Time', may be getting on in years but as many people around Navan will tell you, he's still fit as a fiddle.

Traynor is still lining out for his club, Simonstown, and this week he summed up precisely why former inter county stars keep coming back for more, even if it means dropping down to Junior football. It's all about still being able to put the young lads on their arse with massive hits.

Simonstown were taking on Drumcondrath in the Meath Junior A Championship this week and we have it on good authority that 'Traynor was a beast'. Something which is typified by this huge shoulder which Traynor puts in during the 0-9 to 0-8 win.

They both go down but only one jumps back up. (The reaction from Drumcndrath supporters really makes it all the better)
