TG4 says that 491,000 tuned into their coverage of Sunday's All-Ireland Ladies Football Championship finals.

The day saw Antrim and Fermanagh play out a draw in the junior final, Laois get the better of Wexford by two points in the intermediate decider, and Meath defeat Kerry by nine points in the senior final.

An average audience of 204,900 people watched the live broadcast of the senior final. The match had a 30.6 per cent share of those watching television at the time.

Viewing peaked at 5.10pm - which was nearly 20 minutes into the second half of the senior game - with 279,800 watching as Meath tightened their grip on the Brendan Martin Cup, and eventually retained their All-Ireland title.

46,400 attended the match in person in Croke Park, the first TG4 Ladies Football final to have full capacity allowed since 2019. The game was the first senior ladies football final since 2002 which featured neither Cork nor Dublin.

The numbers of the ladies football final compare favourably to the Euro 2022 final between England and Germany at Wembley which was broadcast on RTÉ2 on Sunday evening.

The final, which kicked off at 5pm, had an average audience of 201,000, a 26 per cent share, while it peaked at 321,000 viewers. The game saw England defeat Germany 2-1 in extra-time.
