Tyrone's Shay McGuigan, along with Paddy McNeice, PJ Lavery, Dwayne Quinn and Emmet McKenna left the Tyrone panel in spring 2015, citing a lack of game time throughout the National League. Last week, Mickey Harte was quoted in The Irish Sun as criticising those who left saying they were draining the energy among the squad.

The players who feel they're not getting as much game time as they want, they tend to be a bit of a drain on the energy of the group, because they feel they should be getting more game time.

McGuigan, brother of Tyrone stalwart Brian, has today used his Twitter account to convey a passionate riposte to Harte's comments, claiming that Harte ignored the level of commitment McGuigan gave to the panel, and accusing him of destroying the confidence of his players.
