The Waterford senior hurling championship is in full swing and neither Dungarvan and Mount Sion were inclined to take any backward steps yesterday.

However, the tension exploded in a horrific brawl which held up the match for three minutes yesterday.

County star Austin Gleeson, the scorer of that sensational solo goal in last year's drawn match with Cork, was sent off as a result of this brawl, along with Dungarvan's Colm Curran.

Despite the efforts of Tony Browne, who struck a second half goal, Dungarvan eventually won the match on a scoreline of 1-22 to 2-16.
