All-Ireland semi-finals are for the great and good and those who later rise to great heights.

After Pillar Caffrey barged into the back of John Morrison during the pre-match ruckus, the camera zoomed in on John Maughan looking giddy with delight at the sight of all the argy-bargy.

Ghosting behind him in full view of the camera is a man who looks suspiciously like Rob Kearney. Very like Rob Kearney in fact.

At 20 years of age, Kearney had already played in the Celtic League at the point and was capped for the Ireland A side. However, he was still a couple of years shy of his first senior international cap.

It can legitimately be said he was not yet famous. The bouncers at the Black Door would not yet have been minded to fast-track him to the front of the queue.

We're confident that there is nothing in the back of Maughan's book that offends Kearney - the camera merely caught him at a moment when he wore a scowl.
