Waterford take on high-flying Clare in round three of the Munster Senior Hurling Championship this Saturday. With Clare facing an uphill battle to the final and Waterford desperately trying to salvage a quickly deteriorating season, Saturday's game should be a cracker.  We have all the info you need for Waterford v Clare right here.

Waterford v Clare: TV details

Despite the ongoing GAA GO/RTE controversy, Waterford v Clare will be broadcast live on GAA GO, with the pre-match build-up starting at 17:30 ahead of the throw-in at 18:00.

When does Waterford v Clare take place?

What is at stake?

Waterford have lost two from two and a third loss would undoubtedly have Davy Fitzgerald and fans in the Deise hitting the panic buttons. With Waterford now bottom of the round-robin table only a win will be enough to keep their fight for All-Ireland series qualification alive.

Clare, on the other hand, sit just a point outside the top two. A win for the Banner would keep their hopes of a Munster final well and truly alive. However, a loss would leave Clare with a steep uphill battle to make that final two, especially with their final match coming against top dogs Cork.

The story so far.

Recommended

Clare come into this game, hot off the back of their phenomenal win over All Ireland favourites Limerick in round two. In what was one of the games of the season, Clare overcame Limerick by a single point in what was a phenomenal fixture. However, it hasn't all been guts and glory for Clare, who lost their round one fixture to Tipperary, conceding five goals in their five-point loss.

Waterford on the other hand have had a less-than-stellar start to the Championship. Davy Fitzgerald's men have lost both their opening games. At the outset, they lost to a formidable Limerick side by just two points in a commendable performance. However, the gallant start was short-lived, with the Deise being thrashed by Cork 0-27 to 0-18 in the second round to make it two losses for two.

While Clare are favourites Waterford's standard isn't that far off Clare. If Waterford can find a way to exploit Clare's defensive frailties around the goals we could have another Munster SHC thriller on our hands.

Waterford

Peter Hogan starts after making an impressive impact off the bench, while Davy Fitz will be looking to a returning Austin Gleeson to create goals upfront. Gleeson is joined by Iarlaith Daly who also returns to the starting fifteen after his injury woes.

While Waterford have strengthened, unsurprisingly Clare remain unchanged after their stellar performance against the All-Ireland champions two weeks ago.

That's all the information you need on how to watch Waterford v Clare.
