Clare and Dublin have boycotted a scheduled coin toss to see who would advance to face Waterford in the All-Ireland quarter-final.

Both counties have taken the decision to refuse to take part in the draw thus effectively ending their interest in this year's championship. The ball is firmly in the Camogie Association's court now with the main hope being that the organisation will be forced into accepting a play-off between the two counties.

We spoke to Clare's Ailish Considine about the fiasco.

We thought it was a joke. There's no way this was going to be settled on a coin toss. We said we can't agree to this... They didn't give us any reason. They've been silent. They've been hiding behind their rules.

How can you decide who goes through to a quarter-final on a coin toss? We've been training all year for a coin toss. That's what it's come down to in the end. We've agreed to play playoffs on whatever day and still no budge from the Camogie association. We're very angry and upset about it.... If we went ahead with the coin toss, we'd be certifying what the camogie association are doing. And as a county we couldn't stand for that. It's just not good enough...

On whether she envisages the Camogie Association changing their minds at this point...

I'm doubtful that they'll change their mind. But I'm hoping that something will be done, but they've (Camogie Association) been unpredictable in what they're doin'...
