NUIG play UCD in the Electric Ireland Sigerson Cup final today. It's the first time in 15 years that the Galway side has reached the final two teams of the competition. UCD won it two years ago, beating DCU in the final. That victory ended a 20-year wait for the Dublin team.
NUIG progressed to the final after beating DIT by three points in Mullingar on Wednesday. It took double extra time for UCD to finally defeatUlster University in Inishkeen, also on Wednesday. They did so by two points.
Numerous inter-county stars will be on show in both starting line-ups today. Galway captain Damien Comer and midfielder Peter Cooke are among the star players for NUIG. Dublin's Con O'Callaghan, Mayo's Stephen Coen and Kerry midfield duo Jack Barry and Barry O'Sullivan are some of the big names for UCD.
