Dublin are through to the Electric Ireland Minor Football All-Ireland Championship semi-finals after an absolutely wild ending to their quarter-final with Cork in Nowlan Park this afternoon. From outrageous points to a last-minute goal and the odd controversial decision, Dublin's win was an absolute classic.

Cork had been the superior side for most of the first half with their goal leaving them five points clear at the break. Little changed in the second half either with Cork dominating everything and putting through a second goal to extend their lead to six points with just ten minutes left to play.

Despite it looking like Cork were going to cruise to the sixty-minute mark, Dublin found their fire and gave fans one of the most entertaining ten minutes of football all season.

With ninety seconds to play and Cork's once comfortable lead whittled down to a mere point, Cork went in search of a game-ending score but Dublin's defence stayed solid disposing of Cork's attacks as they came. There were a few controversial moments and perhaps a Cork free with a minute to play would've been the decider but it wasn't to be.

Dublin wasted no time in taking full advantage of the call, charging back up the pitch where they won a free out on the sideline. Shane Mullarkey expertly scored it, sending the ball into the stratosphere off his left foot before it found its way over the posts.

With the scores level and the excitement at an absolute climax, it looked like extra-time would be the only option. However, Cork opted for a short kick-out, a decision that will live long in the memories of this Cork minor team. Dublin's Paddy Curry nearly immediately intercepted a pass back to the keeper and made no mistake in burying it in the back of the goal as Dublin all but sealed an unlikely win.

Like all good teams, Cork came firing again but their last-ditch goal attempt was deflected wide and Dublin marched onto the All-Ireland semi-finals.

It was a cruel loss for the Cork youngsters, but a monumental win for the capital and an absolutely wild ten minutes of football that saw Dublin come up with outrageous play after play to come back from a six-point deficit and win by three.
