Coming up against real players in Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to provide a much stiffer challenge than the game's AI, and you will need to improve your combat skills as a result.
One of the more useful tricks to learn is when to dive in a shootout. Diving is something that many gamers rarely use, but it could be a big help when you are gaming online.

In order to dive, you are first going to have to aim your weapon. From here, move in the direction that you want to execute the dive.
Once you moving in the direction, simply press 'square' (PS4) or 'X' (Xbox) to execute the dive.

This move is a very simple, but it is one that a lot of players are not aware of. The dive can be very useful. It is best utilised during shootouts, when you can dive behind an object to take cover.
You are more likely to need this move online also, as you will be up against much more dangerous opponents.
