EA Sports FC (FIFA) 24: Latest News, Release Info, And More

EA and FIFA parted ways in 2022 from a franchise spanning over three decades. That wasn't a big deal for them, but for fans who were eagerly awaiting the FIFA 24 release date, it was the end of the world. Luckily, EA Sports announced soon after that they're cooking up an entirely new experience, EA Sports FC 24.

Though FC 24 is a brand-new IP, EA will still stick to the core of what made their previous football games so good. If you're excited about the all-new EA Sports FC and its release date, platforms, and more, then here's everything you need to know.

EA Sports FC 24 Release Date

EA Sports FC 24 will be released on September 29, 2023. Players who purchase the Ultimate Edition can access the game earlier on September 22 instead. That's exactly one week before the game goes global, so for massive fans of football, Ultimate is the way to go.

A Fall release window was already rumored, but now since it's confirmed, EA Sports FC 24 will be in the line of fire for many highly anticipated AAA games set to come out right about then such as Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and Alan Wake 2.

You might think EA would back out because of that, but the company hasn't ever skipped a year with the FIFA series, and although FC 24 isn't the same, its release is shaping up wonderfully.

EA Sports FC 24 Gameplay

The gameplay deep dive of FC 24 has finally arrived, and it looks similar to previous games, albeit the animations have been heavily improved and everything flows so much better. A bunch of new mechanics have been introduced such as the Playstyle+ where your team unlocks upgraded versions of offensive and defensive maneuvers. However, many have criticized the graphical quality overall.

The roster consists of more than 19,000+ players across 700+ teams, and that's a fact you can see being heavily implied on the cover art for the Ultimate Edition. The cover featured a star-studded cast of over two dozen including some of the greatest names in football; David Beckham, Pele, Jude Bellingham, and Erling Haaland. FC 24 will also have over 100 stadiums and 30 leagues, in which EA is reprising many of the partnerships it previously had with publishers.

Will EA Sports FC 24 Have Ultimate Team Mode?

Recommended

Yes, EA Sports FC 24 will have an Ultimate Team mode along with Career Mode, Pro Clubs, and VOLTA Football. For those of you who didn't know, this was confirmed quite a while back on the official blog announcement, so if you were worried about it till now, worry no more.

It goes without saying that FC's Ultimate Team will have a ton of new features. A few major ones of which include the Evolutions mechanic which allows you to upgrade players, and the fact that female players have now been added into the mode. Not only does this allow you to create a dream team of the best players from both worlds, but you'll also be playing with a team of mixed stars for the first time. FC 24 may not be FIFA 24, but it will reprise and improve on all that made the FIFA series so iconic.

Is EA Sports FC 24 Free-to-play?

No, EA Sports FC 24 is not free-to-play. Despite rumors suggesting otherwise, EA will keep up its tradition of releasing premium games with its newest franchise.

That may be a little disappointing to hear, but that keeps microtransactions to a minimum and only limited to specific game modes such as Ultimate Team. Furthermore, FC 24 has a bunch of amazing improvements over the FIFA series, so we'll give EA the benefit of the doubt since these past few years they've been crushing it in the AAA space — points at Jedi Survivor.

Which Platforms Is EA Sports FC On?

EA Sports FC 24 is coming to the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch at launch.

The next-gen era may have started back in 2020, but EA has still managed to support the last generation of consoles. With the rebooted FC franchise coming to fruition, there was a chance that things might pan out differently, but it seems last-gen consoles still pack hefty hardware.

EA has promised us more info about EA Sports FC right up till launch day, so sit tight, and expect to hear about everything you've been waiting for soon.
