Red Dead Redemption 2 has taken the gaming world by storm, and the good news is the title has just got even better. That is due to the game's online platform, which become available for all players today (November 30th). This should add to what is already a completely immersive experience, as you can now join up with your friends to conquer the Old West. This is done via the creation of posses, and today we will show you how to posse up in Red Dead Redemption 2 Online.

How To Posse Up In Red Dead Redemption 2 Online

Becoming part of a posse in Red Dead Redemption 2 allows you to carry out missions and take part in free roam games with either your friends or random people online. It is an excellent addition to the game, finally bringing a sense of interaction with other players to the title.

YouTuber GosuNoob has a video on creating and joining posses here, but we will give you an outline below.

First of all, it is important to know that you must complete the introductory mission online before you can become part of a posse. While you may want to get straight into the assured chaos of open-world online play, you must do at least one mission before forming your posse.

Completing the various available missions is not a bad idea anyway, as it allows you to familiarise yourself with the online environment and earn some much needed cash (or you could just exploit this money glitch).

Once the mission is done, open the pause menu. Scroll down and select the 'posse' option.

You can choose to join any nearby posses, or form your own. There are two types of posses in the game: temporary and persistent. Temporary posses are essentially one session parties, and your stats will not be carried over to a new session.

Persistent posses on the other hand are more permanent ventures, and allows you to carry out repeated missions with you friends. There is one catch in setting up a persistent posse however, in that you need $200 dollars to set one up.

$200 is no small amount of money in Red Dead Redemption 2, especially in the online version. However it is certainly worth it, as forming a posse with your friends is an outrageous amount of fun. Once formed, you can make your posse private or open to the public.
