FIFA 23: The Best Irish Players To Sign For Career Mode
Share this article

When setting off on your FIFA 23 career mode, you may be hoping to bring some Irish players to the forefront of the world game.

It's been a few years now since we had the likes of Robbie Keane and Damien Duff tearing it up for Spurs or Chelsea and, if you dream of bringing your side to the top of the game in your career mode, what could make it better than having some Ireland players there to help along the way?

Here are the best Irish players to sign on your FIFA 23 career mode.

FIFA 23: The best Irish players to sign

Matt Doherty (77 OVR, 77 Potential)

The highest rated Irish player in FIFA 23 to begin with, Matt Doherty would be a solid addition to any squad.

He'd instantly improve any lower-level side, while he'd provide a good challenge to the first choice right backs at the bigger teams. The only downside is his lack of potential but, given he is only 30, there are still plenty of years left in him.

Michael Obafemi (70 OVR, 77 Potential)

A player with a decent ceiling and an already decent starting point, Michael Obafemi is doubly useful for his excellent pace and finishing.

The Swansea City man should be available for a reasonable price, given his rating, and could become an excellent addition to any forward line on the game.

The youngest name on this list, Armstrong Oko-Flex is one for the future. His starter rating of 62 means that he may be better suited if you are going for a "road to glory" style of career mode, with a smaller team, but he has a high ceiling if you can get the most out of him.

He has impressed in his outings for underage Ireland teams, and is definitely one for the future. He's currently on loan at Swansea, so you can assess his growth during that season and see if he is worth a punt.

Jason Knight (69 OVR, 76 Potential)

A perfectly solid midfield option on the game, Jason Knight probably deserves a higher rating than the 69 he has been given.

Nonetheless, he is likely to surpass that quickly if you get him playing well, and Derby's dire financial situation - coupled with his desire to move - should make him easily attainable on the game.

Nathan Collins (75 OVR, 82 Potential)

Another easy one here - but one you'll have to wait for. Collins has only just joined Wolves, so they won't be up for selling him in the first transfer window, but his starter stats are impressive enough, let alone his potential for growth.

When you consider the balance between his rating of 75, and his potential of 82, Collins is easily the most reliable Irish signing on FIFA 23 - you just might have to wait a while to snag him from Wolves.

Gavin Bazunu (70 OVR, 85 Potential)

The easy pick. Gavin Bazunu is the Irish player with the highest potential on FIFA 23 - his starter rating of 70 is criminal given his exploits for the national team over the past few years.

You won't be able to get him in the first transfer window, as he's only just arrived at Southampton - but he's the perfect goalkeeping option for the future, given his high ceiling.

Troy Parrott (66 OVR, 80 Potential)

One of the more long-term ones here. Troy Parrott may be getting regular game time for Ireland, but his stats don't reflect that in the game.

His low starting point of 66, coupled with the fact he is currently plying his trade in the lower leagues, will help you acquire him on the cheap - though you will have to wait a season, due to the fact he is currently on loan at Preston.

By that stage, however, he may have grown further than 66, making him an even better option.
