Hogwarts Legacy finally dropped in recent days, with the game set to become one of the biggest releases of 2023. Gamers across the globe are already getting stuck into what Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has to offer, with no shortage of quests to keep us entertained. One of the ones people are having trouble with is the Hogwarts Legacy solved by the bell challenge, so here are some hints to help you out.
Hogwarts Legacy - Solved By The Bell
'Solved by the bell' is one of the side quests that you will stumble across around the midpoint in Hogwarts Legacy, with quite a few players struggling to figure it out.
YouTuber ZaFrostPet gives a good breakdown of the quest here, but we will give you a summary below.
Firstly, you will want to go to the Hogwarts Legacy solved by the bell quest location identified on the southeast portion of the world map below and enter the chamber.
When you arrive inside, there will be a few enemies knocking about that will need to be defeated.
Once that is out of the way, you will also need to find this piece of parchment.
Once the parchment has been discovered, you will want to fast travel to the Foo Flame known as Clagmar Castle.
That spot can be seen on the map below.
When you arrive at Clagmar castle, you will want to enter the courtyard and climb up the stairs until you find the bell tower.
This is the position you will need to get to.
At this point, you will want to consult the parchment you found earlier. You will notice that each bell corresponds to a musical note, which will have to be hit with a regular cast in the correct sequence in order to complete the task.

- Bell 2
- Bell 4
If done correctly, the bells will play the Harry Potter theme.
A chest will then appear, in which you will find the Treasure Seeker’s Longcoat.
Fairly straightforward, right? There are a couple of different aspects of Hogwarts Legacy solved by the bell, but you should have little issue completing it once you get to the correct spots on the map.
