One of the most hotly anticipated releases in gaming history is here, with Red Dead Redemption 2 now flying off the shelves after a frenzied build up. The game has already received stellar reviews, and although many are still making their way through the story mode of the game, there are those who are starting to wonder about when the online version of the game will be made available.
How To Play Red Dead Redemption 2 Online?
There is still mystery around when the game will be available to play online and while there is no exact date for when Rockstar will release the online version, reports suggest that the company will release an open beta of the game sometime in November.
It seems that Rockstar have learned their lesson from GTA V online, which was something of a disaster, with the company set to take its time with its release of Red Dead Online. The company will be hoping that when it does eventually get released it will replicate the financial success as GTA V online, which put $6 billion in their coffers.
Red Dead Online will be available to all owners of Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4 and Xbox One, with several items exclusive to PS4 owners for a 30 day period.
Here is Rockstar's official statement surrounding the online edition of Red Dead Redemption:
Today we’re excited to announce Red Dead Online, a new online connected experience set against the backdrop of Red Dead Redemption 2's enormous open world.
Red Dead Online is an evolution of the classic multiplayer experience in the original Red Dead Redemption, blending narrative with competitive and cooperative gameplay in fun new ways. Using the gameplay of the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 as a foundation, Red Dead Online will be ready to be explored alone or with friends, and will also feature constant updates and adjustments to grow and evolve this experience for all players.
Red Dead Online is planned for launch in November 2018, initially as a public beta, with more news to come soon. As with most online experiences of this size and scale, there will inevitably be some turbulence at launch. We look forward to working with our amazing and dedicated community to share ideas, help us fix teething problems and work with us to develop Red Dead Online into something really fun and innovative.
