Pro Evolution Soccer 2, aside from being one of the best sports games on the PlayStation 2 and a release that set the foundations for PES 3 and PES 4 to kick-on and take over the world, was absolutely hilarious in terms of the issues it faced due to licencing.
This was far before the likes of Luis Suarez were on the cover of the game and Konami could afford to pump money into licences to secure the rights to the world's biggest teams, so the developers had to improvise.
With a focus on gameplay and graphics, but severely limited in what they could actually call the teams in the game, Pro Evolution Soccer 2 offered up some serious fun... And confusing and comical club names.
We are not expecting anything over 10/20 here, even for hardcore PES fans, but instead this quiz is designed to offer you a laugh at some of the decisions that were made. If you do manage to score around 15, or dare we say get 100%, then you can truly call yourself a Pro Evolution Soccer historian.

The idea of Aston Villa being called Dublin, presumably because of Dion Dublin, is hilarious. That said, we can't imagine too many Celtic fans were happy for the team to be called 'Ulster'...
