Here Are The Options When You Move An NFL Franchise To Dublin In Madden 18

With the NFL season due to kick off on Thursday night, thousands of hours of Madden have already been logged since the game's release last week and typically this is the busiest time for the game as pigskin fever sets in.

Whether you are new to the series or a veteran of the gaming gridiron, Madden 18 offers the latest and best features to keep you coming back all season long, including the 'Connected Career' mode that used to be known simply as 'Franchise'.

The option to relocate a team is back this year, and we figured some of our readers would have an interest in seeing what the options for Dublin look like as it is an option for relocation along with the likes of London, Mexico City, Toronto, and the likes of San Antonio and Oklahoma in the States.

It will never, ever happen we're sure, so it's funny that it's an option, but first, how do you go about relocating an NFL team in Connected Career?

How To Relocate A Team In Madden 18

The first thing you have to do is choose 'Owner' when presented with the option of being a player, a coach, or an owner. Player career means you control one player on the field (formerly Be-A-Pro mode), coach lets you call plays on both sides of the ball in games, sign free agents, and all the traditional features of a career mode, while owner is the full mode with the option to relocate and even change the price of hot dogs.

You'll need to be sure that you are in charge of a team that CAN be relocated, as core teams such as the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, and New England Patriots are likely to reject your proposal to relocate. Try with the team you want first, but you can play it safe with the LA Chargers, Jacksonville Jaguars, or Cleveland Browns, who will all definitely accept.

Once you land at the home screen, do not advance or skip the pre-season and head straight to the 'My Owner' tab, and then select 'Stadium'. From here you will see 'RELOCATE', so obviously that is what you want to select.

The process will take a few weeks, so sim your pre-season games slowly and carefully not to skip the relocation notice. Mine popped up in the fourth week of the regular season, as you need to finish at least one season before your relocation can happen, so the 'simulate season' option here is your friend.

One the relocation options pop up in your 'Things To Do' section, you will be asked to pick your city, and then be presented with the options which, for Dublin, are as follows:

Dublin Celtic Tigers:

Hard not to laugh when you see that team name, as it would take the return of the Celtic Tiger for us to be able to afford even considering bringing and NFL team here.

That said, it's not the worst suggestion in the world and the logo is quite good.

Also, the uniforms are outstanding.

Dublin Antlers:

A nod to the deers in the Phoenix Park, the Dublin Antlers is certainly the least eye-catching of the names on offer but is probably the most realistic.

Uniform Option 3:

Dublin Shamrocks:

Definitely the most American of the options available, it's also probably the best. It just has a ring to it that feels more 'NFL' than the Antlers or the Celtic Tigers.

Also, the uniforms are probably the best of the bunch.
