Starfield was released by Bethesda back in early September, after years of huge anticipation.

It was the first original world RPG in 25 years from the legendary game developers, following the likes of Elder Scrolls and Fallout.

However, despite receiving positive reviews, it has missed out on a Game of the Year nomination at the 2023 Game Awards, which will take place on December 7, and only scored one nomination, in the Best RPG category.

Starfield Controversially Misses Out At Game Awards

The nominees for Game of the Year are: Alan Wake 2 (Remedy Entertainment/Epic Games Publishing), Baldur’s Gate 3 (Larian Studios), Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (Insomniac Games/SIE), Resident Evil 4 (Capcom), Super Mario Bros. Wonder (Nintendo EPD/Nintendo), The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Nintendo EPD/Nintendo).

Baldur's Gaate 3 and Alan Wake 2 topped the nominations with eight each.
