Fifa 18 is set be released on September 29 and it looks to be the best and most exciting in the series, with the announcement of brand new ICONs that include the likes of Ronaldinho, Diego Maradona and Thierry Henry.

However, one of the sadder aspects of the latest FIFA is the the loss of some stalwarts to the game altogether because they have finally decided to hang up their boots

Copa 90 have released a small video of the players' first appearance in the game, as well as their last appearance.

We would like to know who you think should be the first of the retirements to get an ICON card in the future?

Xabi Alonso

Started out in the game in 2002 with Real Sociedad, the dictator in midfield was never blessed with pace but his passing range was off the charts.

Although he did not win the Champions League with his final club with Bayern Munich, he must be content with a World Cup medal with Spain and and two Champions League titles with Liverpool and Real Madrid respectively.

Francesco Totti

What more can you say about this true legend of the game, a one club man who resisted the lure of Real Madrid on several occasions to stay at his beloved Roma.

The two major trophies he won were Serie A in 2000/01 and the World Cup with Italy in 2006.

Totti started out in a true classic of the Fifa series, Fifa 96. Legend.

Frank Lampard

Now signed up to a pundit with BT Sport, Frank Lampard was a beast throughout the series of Fifa and was first installed into the game in Fifa 2000.

We are going to miss those late rampaging runs into the box and his powerful shot from now on. A Big loss.

Dirk Kuyt

Although not the most stylish player, Kuyt is a legend among Liverpool and Feyenoord fans, he scored a hat trick on his last game ever for the Feyenoord to help them win their first league title in 18 years.

Kuyt first appeared in Fifa 2000 while he was playing with FC Uterecht.

Philip Lahm

A true professional and outstanding player is how many would describe him and his list of honours would back that up, eight Bundesliga titles, a Champions League title and a World Cup for good measure.

Lahm started out in the Fifa in 2002, and has been a beast in the game right up to Fifa 17.

Without doubt a huge hole to fill for a German right back in the game and a huge hole in the Bayern team to fill also.

We are going to miss him
