Donald Trump Calls Jordan Spieth A Choker - But He's Not The Worst Kind

Donald Trump deployed the 'c' word when alluding to Jordan Spieth's fatal hiccup down the back nine on Sunday. But he wished to make clear that Spieth is an infinitely higher class of 'choker' than the last Republican presidential nominee, that shiny epitome of the GOP establishment, Mitt Romney.

Trump, who sometimes appears to own about 80% of the golf courses in America, drew an analogy that no one had yet drawn, between young Spieth and Romney.

He rather graphically described Romney as having 'choked like a dog' in 2012. He returned to a more recent, a more admirable choke from the last few days.

That last election should have been won, except Romney choked like a dog. He choked … Let me tell you, Jordan Spieth choked a little bit. But you know what? He's going to recover. He's a great young guy, and he's going to recover. Romney can't recover from a choke.

Trump and golf. Distant observers would have America's golfing fraternity down as one of Trump's most reliable constituencies.

But Rory McIlroy, to whom Trump returned a golf club retrieved from a lake at Doral, is supremely unconcerned about the possibility of Trump becoming President.

He's not going to be the leader of my country, so it really doesn't bother me too much. I thought I knew politics until I started watching these debates. I can't vote and if I could I'm not sure I would vote for any of these candidates.
