HAPPY GILMORE: Ian Madigan Hits Golf Balls Better Than Adam Sandler

Undeterred by Luke Fitzgerald's woes with a golf club in hand, Ian Madigan tried one of the most ambitious shots in golf, one that spectators are unlikely to see in Georgia this week.

The Happy Gilmore swing increases the likelihood of a fresh air shot by about 700%. Considering that one of his teammates missed the golf ball while standing still, this was brave of Madigan.

Padraig Harrington is another man who has tried a Happy Gilmore swing.

Harrington performed the Happy Gilmore in the interests of science. It was a detailed investigation on the effects, positive and negative, of the Happy Gilmore swing. Throughout the segment, he gave the impression that he'd be willing to try it professionally if he could be persuaded of its benefits.

Madigan, by contrast, performed the Happy Gilmore solely for the purposes of his Instagram followers. Here is the result.
