The Odds For The 2017 Masters Are Available And One Name Sticks Out

The 2017 Masters will be a chance for redemption. With Jordan Spieth the latest Amen Corner victim, and Rory McIlroy admitting that the chase for the elusive career Grand Slam is haunting him - there will be a lot of #storylines going into April 2017.

I did a WAY too early betting preview for the 2016 Masters the day after the 2015 Masters in which (good) I said Jordan Spieth wouldn't win in 2016, but also tipped Rickie Fowler (bad).

So when I look at next year's prices - one name stands out for value. Jordan Spieth is available at 10/1 in some places, which is an extraordinarily generous price.

Spieth may have some demons to exorcise next year, and that will be something he's never faced before. But Spieth showed fantastic mental strength to come back from losing four shots at the turn to shoot two under for the final six holes.

His Augusta record speaks for itself - second, first, second - in three starts - and he isn't even the favourite for next year's tournament. That honour falls to current world number one Jason Day at 8/1.

For the record, other notable prices include 33/1 for the current champion Danny Willett to defend his title, 33/1 for perennial top ten finisher Hideki Matsuyama, and 10/1 for Rory McIlroy.

But right now, there's only one man you want to be backing - and that's Spieth. Spieth should come back roaring, so the really short 6/1 price for him to win the US Open doesn't look too bad.
