Irishman (or possibly Briton depending if you're reading the English papers) Graeme McDowell became the first European to win the US Open since 1970 last night despite actually dropping three shots with a closing round of 74. McDowell started the round three shots behind his playing partner Dustin Johnson, but the American had a complete meltdown and finished with an 11 over par 82.

McDowell was a very successful college player at the University of Alabama but had never won in the US as a professional before. What a way to start!

Here's the highlights of the final round. You'll like it if you like wayward driving, sloppy putting and Irish wins.
