Rory McIlroy has his first win of the 2025 PGA season as he shot a six under round of 65 to win AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California over the weekend. Shane Lowry was also successful out on Pebble Beach as the Offaly man finished second place.

The pair came into the final round tied for second behind their former Ryder Cup teammate Sepp Straka in a stacked leaderboard which also featured Justin Rose and Scottie Scheffler.

It was a monster back nine which helped Rory pull away from the pack, including an eagle on the par 5 14th hole which featured a monster drive which went 339 yards. He would go on to win by 2 shots on -21 and won $3.6 million.

Speaking to CBS Golf after his victory Rory spoke about what it meant for him as a golf fan to win at Pebble Beach and how he soaked it all in.

Yeah, some people would argue that the courses I have won on are not up to a Pebble Beach or an Augusta or whatever, but to win at one of the cathedrals of golf, it's pretty cool. I knew today was going to be tough, it was going to be exciting with so many guys around the lead and I guess with it being Pebble Beach I had to put that to the back of my mind and just go out there and shoot a score, which I was able to. Really cool to have that walk up 18, take it all in was very cool.

Rory was joined on the podium by Shane Lowry who shot a four under 68 to claim solo second place, including a birdie on the 18th to ensure he pocketed $1.9 million. McIlroy spoke about how good it was to have his fellow countryman up there in the standings and mentioned that they'll have a good plane ride home back to Florida where the two are neighbours.

It was nice to walk up here, it was also good to see Shane make four to finish second on his own. That will make our flight home a little bit better. A really cool day.

Fellow Irishman Seamus Power also did well over the weekend in California as the Waterford man foinished the tournament tied for 17th on -11 with Collin Morikawa among others.
