The latest edition of "The Open" had little that will be remembered past tomorrows back pages. With no Tiger, Padraig, Rory or the likes near the top of the leaderboard it was left to a relatively unknown South African to take the Claret Jug.

Despite it being a relatively boring major, there was some snapshots of brilliance like this from Miguel Angle Jiminez.

And lastly if you havent heard it yet, and you may be the only one who hasn't as its been mentioned at least 3 times a minute. Rory McIlroy is yet to hit a round in the 70's on the old course at St Andrews
