What a week it's been for Paul Dunne.
Making his first appearance as a pro, the Wicklow native finished in joint 19th spot at the Alfred Dunhill Links championship at St Andrews, banking a tidy €47, 536 in the process.
The prize money will come as a great reward for Dunne who was unable to pocket anything from his strong British Open performance due to his amateur status.
Following his productive week Dunne will no doubt be pleased at the latest golf rankings which place him at 737th in the world, a long way off Jordan Speith but a jump of 205 places after one tournament isn't bad going at all.
More importantly than his ranking is his spot on the illustrious Race To Dubai. His performance in St Andrews places him at 201st in the race, and more stellar performances like this one will see him propel even further up the list where the top 110 compete in a season long event.
Dunne will be in action again at the British Masters later this week at Woburn Golf Club, a course where he has a strong record. He then sets off to the Portuguese masters the following week where he'll look to further propel his ranking.
