Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson may be about to face off live on TV once again in aid of coronavirus relief, but this time they could be joined by a pair of NFL legends.

The pair have met in a one-on-one setting before, with 2018's 'The Match' largely deemed to be a disappointment. Neither player was at their best, although there was plenty of drama at the end with Mickelson winning after four play-off holes.

While that one may not have set the pulses racing, a rematch between the pair would be hotly anticipated considering the lack of live sport around at the minute.

According to to Reuters (via US Metro), the pair are close to agreeing a rematch, which would take place next month. They would also be joined by NFL legends Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Brady and Manning had a healthy rivalry while they were both in the league and their inclusion would add plenty of intrigue, especially for American sports fans.

The event would be broadcast live, with both the PGA Tour and WarnerMedia involved in negotiations. It's unlikely that it would be on pay-per-view, with money set to be raised for coronavirus relief efforts.

It would also take place without fans present. All competitors would also adhere to social distancing guidelines by staying two metres apart.

Should this event go ahead it would be a boost to everyone who is being starved of live sport at the minute. With the exception of the Belarusian league, there is very little to keep supporters occupied at the minute.

Tom Brady has managed to keep himself in the headlines despite all that, announcing that he would leave the New England Patriots after 20 years with the franchise. He will line out for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next season, a team who have not made the play-offs since 2007.
