Horizon Sports Management have claimed that Rory McIlroy deliberately filed a lawsuit against them the day before Graeme McDowell's wedding last September in order to 'inflict maximum reputational damage through the media.'

MD of Horizon, Conor Ridge and his colleague, Colin Morrissey, were in the Bahamas for McDowell's nuptials when McIlroy filed the lawsuit against his former agent. They claim he knew they were away and that it 'can only be interpreted as a premeditated exercise.'

McIlroy has denied this and has said that the timing of the lawsuit was down to a 'simple gap' that was in his golfing schedule.

The Independent has the full court report on the case and details allegations made against Horizon by McIlroy.
