If McIlroy does the incredible and pulls of a wire-to-wire win at Augusta this weekend, it would not only be a win for Ireland, it would be a win for all men who value their mates over their families, wives and girlfriends. McIlroy is joined in Augusta not by his parents, but by his Holywood homies Harry Diamond, Mitchel Tweedy and Ricky McCormack. Fart jokes, sport talk and unhealthy eating have been the recipe for a few sporting successes over the years, but none in golf, as far as I can remember. With their football throwing, mall-shopping antics, Rory and the lads have become the talk of Augusta. The Guardian has even likened them to something akin to the the cast of Nordie Entourage.
